Poslednji snimci svemirske sonde Kasini

Sve dok američka svemirska sonda Kasini nije stigla do orbite Saturna od 2004. godine, "Zemljani" nisu imali priliku da vide tu planetu izbliza. U međuvremenu Kasini je napravio 453,000 snimaka ne samo Saturna, već i krugova i mesece te gigantske gasovite planete. Poslednji snimci stižu samo dan pre nego što Kasini (15. septembra) ne bude izgoreo na Saturnovom nebu i time veličanstveno završi vrlo plodnu naučnu misiju.

This series of images from NASA’s Cassini spacecraft shows the development of the largest storm seen on the planet since 1990. These true-color and composite near-true-color views chronicle the storm from its start in late 2010 through mid-2011, showing how the distinct head of the storm quickly grew large but eventually became engulfed by the storm’s tail.
